Murchison Falls National Park is Uganda’s crown jewel, a sprawling 3,840-square-kilometer wilderness where the Nile River thunders through a 7-meter gorge and plunges 45 meters into the “Devil’s Cauldron” below. This 4-Day Murchison Falls & Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary safari takes you to the heart of this extraordinary landscape, home to the Big Five and over 451 bird species. Begin your journey at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, the only place in Uganda where you can track wild rhinos on foot, a conservation success story that has grown from six to 48 rhinos since 2005.

This Murchison Falls & Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary safari includes round-trip transport from Kampala or Entebbe, 3 nights’ accommodation at a comfortable lodge, all meals, game drives, a Nile boat cruise, rhino tracking, and a visit to the top of the falls. You’ll travel in a private 4×4 safari vehicle with an expert guide who knows the park’s wildlife intimately. All park fees, rhino permits, and boat cruise fees are included. For birdwatchers, the park offers the rare shoebill stork, often spotted along the Nile’s papyrus-lined banks.

Day 01 :

Kampala/Entebbe – Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary – Murchison Falls

Your 4-Day Murchison Falls & Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary safari begins with an early morning pickup from your hotel in Kampala or Entebbe. The scenic 3-4 hour drive north winds through Uganda's lush countryside, past local villages and rolling hills. Your first stop is Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, a 70-square-kilometer haven for endangered white rhinos. Here, you'll don your walking shoes and set out on foot with an experienced ranger to track these magnificent creatures the only place in Uganda where this is possible. The sanctuary is home to 48 rhinos, a testament to two decades of conservation success. After an exhilarating encounter, enjoy lunch en route before continuing to Murchison Falls National Park. Day 02 :

Morning Game Drive – Afternoon Nile Boat Cruise

Rise early for a sunrise game drive on the northern banks of the Nile. This is the best time to catch predators on the hunt lions, leopards, and hyenas are most active in the cool morning light. The park is home to Uganda's largest lion population, and you'll also spot elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, Uganda kobs, and Jackson's hartebeest. Return to the lodge for a late breakfast and some rest. In the afternoon, embark on a boat cruise along the Nile to the base of Murchison Falls. This is one of Africa's most spectacular wildlife cruises, where you'll get close to hippos, Nile crocodiles, and elephants drinking at the shore. The cruise also offers excellent opportunities to spot the prehistoric shoebill stork along the riverbanks. As you approach the falls, feel the spray on your face as the Nile squeezes through a 7-meter gorge. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight. Overnight at your Murchison Falls lodge. Day 03 :

3: Full Day Game Drive & Top of the Falls

Spend a full day exploring the park's diverse landscapes. Start with a morning game drive in the southern sector, known for its rich wildlife and fewer crowds. Look for lions, elephants, buffaloes, and antelopes. In the afternoon, visit the top of Murchison Falls, one of the world's most powerful waterfalls. Stand at the brink and watch the Nile explode through the narrow gorge, a breathtaking spectacle of raw power. The viewpoint offers stunning photo opportunities and a chance to spot African fish eagles soaring overhead. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight. Overnight at your Murchison Falls lodge. Day 04 :

Morning Game Drive – Return to Kampala/Entebbe

Enjoy a final morning game drive, catching last glimpses of the park's wildlife. Head south toward the grasslands, where you might find remaining cats or enjoy sightings of Uganda kobs, hartebeest, and oribi. Return to the lodge for breakfast, then check out and begin the journey back to Kampala or Entebbe, with a stop for lunch en route. Arrive in the late afternoon or early evening, where you'll be dropped off at your hotel or Entebbe International Airport. Meal Plan: Breakfast.
