Day 01 :

Nairobi – Transfer to Lake Nakuru National Park | Afternoon Game Drive

Your 3-Day Lake Nakuru Rhino Safari begins with an early morning pickup from your hotel in Nairobi (around 7:00 AM). Enjoy a scenic 2.5- to 3-hour drive northwest, climbing onto the wall of the Great Rift Valley. Stop at the escarpment viewpoint for breathtaking photos of the valley floor, Mount Longonot, and the steam of the Olkaria geothermal fields on clear days. Continue past Naivasha and the floriculture greenhouses to reach Lake Nakuru National Park by late morning. After a brief check-in, enjoy lunch at your lodge overlooking the lake. In the afternoon, enter the park for your first game drive, focusing on the rhino sanctuary. Lake Nakuru is one of Kenya's most reliable places to spot rhinos; both black and white rhinos graze the open lakeshore in plain view. Watch the yellow-barked fever trees closely for the park's resident tree-climbing lions draped along the branches. As the light softens toward 5:00 PM, climb to Baboon Cliff or the Out of Africa viewpoint for a long look across the water, then return to your lodge for dinner before the park gate closes at 6:00 PM. Day 02 :

Full Day in Lake Nakuru – Rhino Tracking & Flamingo Spectacle

Rise early for a dawn game drive while Nakuru is at its most active. The cool early air is the best window for rhinos on the move. Lake Nakuru is home to one of the country's largest concentrations of black rhinos, and white rhinos have also been successfully introduced. Black rhinos, with fewer than 7,000 left worldwide, are more temperamental and have pointed mouths for browsing shrubs, while white rhinos are grazers with flat mouths for eating grass. Visitors frequently spot rhinos within 20 meters of the vehicle. Continue your game drive across the park's 188 square kilometers, scanning the grasslands for buffalo, the endangered Rothschild's giraffe, waterbuck, zebra, and troops of baboons. Down at the soda lake's edge, the alkaline water draws pelicans and, in the years the chemistry is right, the shifting pink-and-white band of lesser and greater flamingos. However, flamingo numbers vary unpredictably from season to season. Return to the lodge for lunch and rest. In the late afternoon, embark on another game drive, exploring different sectors of the park and enjoying the dramatic evening light over the lake. Overnight at your Lake Nakuru lodge. Day 03 :

Morning Game Drive – Return to Nairobi

Enjoy a final early morning game drive, catching last glimpses of rhinos and the park's abundant wildlife as the sun rises over the lake. For the best chance of rhino sightings, spend time in the bushy areas and open lakeshore grasslands where they frequently graze. Return to the lodge for breakfast, check out, and begin the scenic drive back to Nairobi. Arrive in the early afternoon, when you'll be dropped off at your hotel or the airport.
