Your 3-Day Akagera Big Five Safari begins with a morning pickup from your hotel in Kigali or Kigali International Airport. After a brief safari briefing, enjoy a scenic 2.5-hour drive east through Rwanda's rolling hills and rural countryside to Akagera National Park. Arrive at your lodge in time for lunch, then settle in and prepare for your first game drive. In the afternoon, head into the park's southern sector, home to the protected rhino sanctuary. Both black and white rhinos can be found here, making Akagera one of the best places in East Africa to see these endangered animals. Rise early for a sunrise game drive in the northern sector of the park, known for its predator populations.
