3-Day Masai Mara Safari Overview

The Masai Mara National Reserve is Kenya’s most iconic safari destination, a vast expanse of rolling savannah plains teeming with wildlife. This 3-day safari is designed for travelers who want to experience the best of the Mara without breaking the bank. Picture yourself spotting lions lazing in the morning sun, watching elephants cross the golden plains, and witnessing the dramatic river crossings of the Great Migration. The Mara is home to the Big Five- lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhino- as well as cheetahs, hyenas, giraffes, and over 500 bird species. This is safari at its most authentic.

This carefully crafted 3-day Masai Mara safari includes round-trip transport from Nairobi in a 4×4 safari vehicle with a pop-up roof for optimal wildlife viewing. You’ll enjoy two nights’ accommodation at a comfortable tented camp or lodge, all meals, and game drives led by professional English-speaking guides. Traveling in a small shared group offers affordability while ensuring a personalized experience. All park entrance fees are included (approx. $200 per person for 3 days, July-December). Our packages cover the classic Mara circuit: an introductory sunset game drive, a full-day safari with picnic lunch, and a final morning game drive.

Day 01 :

Nairobi to Masai Mara – Afternoon Game Drive

Your adventure begins with an early morning pickup from your Nairobi hotel or the airport. After a brief safari briefing, depart for the scenic drive through the Great Rift Valley, with a stop at the viewpoint to capture breathtaking photos. The journey continues through Narok Town, the heartland of the Maasai people, before arriving at your tented camp in time for lunch. After resting, set out for your first afternoon game drive (4:00 PM - 6:00 PM) in the reserve. Watch as the golden savannah comes alive: spot lions, elephants, giraffes, and zebras as the sun begins its descent. Return to camp as darkness falls for a buffet dinner and stories around the campfire. Overnight at your Masai Mara camp.

Day 02 :

Full Day in Masai Mara – Big Five Safari & Picnic Lunch

Wake early for a sunrise game drive- the best time to witness predators on the hunt. After a hearty breakfast, you'll embark on a full-day safari adventure across the vast plains with a packed picnic lunch. Today is your best chance to spot the Big Five: lions, leopards, elephants, buffaloes, and rhinos. Visit the famous Mara River, where hippos and crocodiles lurk in the water. If you're visiting between July and October, you may witness the Great Migration- over 1.5 million wildebeests and zebras crossing the crocodile-infested river. Enjoy your picnic lunch surrounded by the sounds of the African wilderness before continuing your game drive in the afternoon. Return to camp in the evening, sharing the day's incredible sightings over dinner. Overnight at your Masai Mara camp.

Day 03 :

Morning Game Drive – Return to Nairobi

After breakfast, enjoy a final early morning game drive while exiting the reserve- one last opportunity to spot any animals you may have missed. Check out from your camp and begin the return journey to Nairobi, stopping at the Great Rift Valley viewpoint for final photos. Arrive in Nairobi in the afternoon, where you'll be dropped off at your hotel or the airport, marking the end of your unforgettable 3-day Masai Mara safari. Meals: Breakfast.
