Day 01 :

Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Your 4-Day Gorilla Trekking & Lake Bunyonyi Escape begins with an early morning pickup from your hotel in Kampala, Entebbe, or Kigali. Enjoy a scenic drive through Uganda's breathtaking countryside, passing through rolling hills, tea plantations, and local villages. Stop at the Equator line in Kayabwe for photos and a quick experiment before continuing through the Kigezi Highlands, fondly called "the Switzerland of Africa." Arrive at Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in the late afternoon, where the cool mist and rainforest ambiance set the tone for the days ahead. Check into your lodge, enjoy dinner, and prepare for tomorrow's extraordinary gorilla encounter. Overnight at your Bwindi lodge. Meals: Lunch & Dinner.

Day 02 :

Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

This is the day you've been waiting for. Rise early for breakfast, then transfer to the park headquarters (around 7:00 AM) for registration and a briefing from Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers. You'll be assigned to one of the park's 19 habituated gorilla families and given trekking guidelines, including the importance of maintaining a 7-meter distance and keeping voices low. The trek can take 2 to 6 hours depending on the gorillas' location, as they move freely through the dense forest. Once located, you'll spend one magical hour observing the gorilla family in their natural habitat, watching the silverback lead his group, mothers nurse their infants, and juveniles play. After your encounter, return to the lodge for a well-earned rest. In the evening, you may choose to visit the nearby Batwa community for a cultural experience, learning about the forest's original inhabitants and their traditional ways of life. Day 03 :

Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi – The Place of Little Birds

After breakfast, take a short, scenic drive to Lake Bunyonyi, a breathtaking crater lake known for its 29 islands and terraced hills. The drive offers stunning views of southwestern Uganda's patchwork landscapes. Arrive at your lodge by the lake and settle in. In the afternoon, enjoy a canoe ride on the calm waters, exploring the islands and learning about their history. Punishment Island, known locally as Akampene, tells a poignant story of local traditions where unmarried pregnant girls were left on the island. The lake is bilharzia-free and safe for swimming, with water depths reaching up to 900 meters, making it Africa's second deepest lake. Relax and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere as the sun sets over the water. Overnight at your Lake Bunyonyi lodge. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner.

Day 04 :

Lake Bunyonyi – Return to Kampala or Entebbe

Enjoy a final leisurely breakfast with the lake views. Depending on your departure time, take one more walk along the shore or a short boat ride to capture the last memories of the "place of little birds." Check out from your lodge and begin the journey back to Kampala or Entebbe, with a stop at the Equator for photos and souvenirs. Arrive in the late afternoon or early evening, where you'll be dropped off at your hotel or Entebbe International Airport.
