Day 01 :

Kampala/Entebbe – Transfer to Kibale National Park

Your Kibale chimpanzee tour begins with an early morning pickup from your hotel in Kampala or Entebbe. Enjoy a scenic 5-6 hour drive through Uganda's lush countryside, passing through tea plantations, local villages, and the rolling hills of the "Land of a Thousand Hills." Stop for lunch along the way and enjoy the changing landscapes as you approach the forest. Arrive at your lodge near Kibale National Park in the late afternoon. Check in, settle into your comfortable room, and take in the sounds of the forest. In the evening, enjoy a welcome dinner and a briefing on the days ahead. Overnight at your Kibale lodge. Day 02 :

Chimpanzee Trekking – Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary Walk

This is the highlight of your Kibale chimpanzee tour. Rise early for breakfast, then transfer to the park headquarters (around 8:00 AM) for registration and a briefing from Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers. The briefing covers safety guidelines, chimp behavior, and what to expect during the trek. Then, enter the forest with expert rangers and trackers who know the trails and the chimpanzee communities intimately. Trekking can take 2 to 5 hours depending on the chimps' location, and once located, you'll spend one magical hour observing them in their natural habitat. Watch them feed, groom, play, and communicate in the wild. After your encounter, return to the lodge for lunch and rest. In the afternoon, visit the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, a community-run conservation area renowned for its rich birdlife and primates. Walk through papyrus swamps and forest patches, spotting species like the great blue turaco, the papyrus gonolek, and the black-and-white colobus monkey. Overnight at your Kibale lodge. Day 03 :

Community Visit – Return to Kampala/Entebbe

After breakfast, visit a local community near Kibale. Learn about traditional life in rural Uganda and the efforts to balance conservation with community development. You may visit a local school, participate in a cultural performance, or learn about sustainable farming practices. This is a meaningful opportunity to connect with the people who live alongside the forest. Check out from your lodge and begin the journey back to Kampala or Entebbe, with a stop for lunch along the way. Arrive in the late afternoon or early evening, where you'll be dropped off at your hotel or Entebbe International Airport. Meal Plan: Breakfast.
