Day 01 :

Arrival in Kigali – Transfer to Volcanoes National Park

Your 4-Day Rwanda Gorilla & Golden Monkey Safari begins with a warm welcome at Kigali International Airport. Your driver-guide greets you and assists with all formalities. Enjoy a scenic 2-3 hour drive through Rwanda's breathtaking countryside, passing through the rolling hills and lush landscapes that give Rwanda its nickname, "Land of a Thousand Hills." Arrive at your lodge near Volcanoes National Park, where the cool mountain air and forest views create a magical atmosphere. Settle in, enjoy dinner, and prepare for tomorrow's extraordinary gorilla encounter. Overnight at your Volcanoes lodge. Meals: Lunch & Dinner.

Day 02 :

Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park

This is the day you've been waiting for. Rise early for breakfast, then transfer to the Kinigi Park headquarters (approximately 7:00 AM) for registration and a briefing from park rangers. You'll be assigned to one of the park's 12 habituated gorilla families and given trekking guidelines, including the importance of maintaining a 7-meter distance and keeping voices low. Enter the mist-shrouded forest with expert trackers and rangers who know the terrain intimately. The trek can take 2 to 6 hours depending on the gorillas' location, as their territory can cover up to 40 kilometers. Once located, you'll spend one magical hour observing the gorilla family in their natural habitat, watching the silverback lead his group, mothers nurse their infants, and juveniles play. After your encounter, trek back to the headquarters, receive your gorilla trekking certificate, and return to the lodge for a well-earned rest. Overnight at your Volcanoes lodge. Day 03 :

Golden Monkey Tracking – Community Visit

After breakfast, return to Volcanoes National Park for golden monkey tracking, a lighter and often quicker trek than the gorilla trek. These endangered primates are endemic to the Virunga Mountains and live in the bamboo forests at the base of the volcanoes. Their high-energy movements make for fantastic photos as they leap from branch to branch. The tracking session takes 2 to 3 hours with a maximum group size of 8 people. In the afternoon, enjoy a cultural experience with a visit to the Iby'Iwacu Cultural Village or a local community near the park. Learn about traditional Rwandan culture, witness vibrant dances, and discover the efforts to balance conservation with community development. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight. Day 04 :

Volcanoes – Return to Kigali – City Tour – Departure

After breakfast, check out and enjoy a scenic drive back to Kigali. Upon arrival, take an exciting tour of the attractive city of Kigali, one of the cleanest cities in Africa. The city tour includes a visit to the Kigali Genocide Memorial, documenting the history of the 1994 Rwandan genocide, and a stop at the Caplaki Crafts Village where you can browse and buy traditional crafts. After exploring Kigali, transfer to Kigali International Airport for your departure flight. As you leave, you'll carry with you the unforgettable memories of coming face to face with mountain gorillas and golden monkeys—one of the most profound wildlife encounters on Earth.
